NOTD #2 - A Pop of Colour

Cobalt blue is one of my favourite colours for autumn but I find it difficult to pull off when it comes to clothing. That's why I loving adding this colour to my nails or accessories.

These are the polishes I used...
L-R: Seche Vite Top Coat, Sinful Colours (Snow Me White), Barry M (Cobalt Blue), 17 (Forever), Sinful Colours (Black on Black), Essie Protein Base Coat

I used a bobby pin to create the polka dots and an old eye liner brush for the thin strip of blue. I hope you like this design. :)

September Favourites '14

This month has been full of no makeup days so I haven't had the opportunity to try out many new products. Most of the items here have been my favourites for a while now so I think they're definitely worth mentioning!

Naked Palette - £33.30
I'm sure you've all heard and seen this palette everywhere but I don't know what I would do without it! I've been loving the shades Side Car and Hustle lately. They complement each other so well and have the perfect amount of sparkle! (swatches below)
Shu Uremura Brush 14 - £32

I've only been using concealer on my face this month so this brush has been amazing for blending that in. It's super soft and doesn't leave streaks. The shape of it is perfect  for getting into the corners of my nose and under the eyes.
Revlon Colour Burst Balm Stain (Crush) - £7.99

Now it's getting a little colder, time to get out the darker lip colours! I love this shade for autumn and it's so easy to apply. The colour lasts well as it is a stain but it's super moisturising and has a slightly glossy finish.
Chanel Rouge Coco Shine (Boy) - £25

On days where I haven't done anything with my face, I like to have a very natural looking lipstick on. This is the perfect 'your lips but better' shade. It's very moisturising and has a little shimmer.
Seventeen Blush Powder (Nude) - £3.49

I just rediscovered this blush this month. I wore it all autumn last year and I'm pretty sure this year will be the same. It's a very natural looking blush with a slight shimmer. It adds a pretty glow to the cheeks and helps my complexion look nice and healthy.
NYX Felt Tip Liner (Extreme Black) - £7.00

This is a new purchase this month and I have been in love with it. It's so easy to use and the colour is super intense. The nib is nice and pointed so it's easy to draw a thin line and it lasts all day.

I hope you liked this post. Let me know if you've tried any of these products and what you think of them. :)

NYX Jumbo Pencil Review

I finally got my hands on the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil which I have been wanting to try for absolutely ages. After reading countless blogposts about this so-called wonder, I had to see what all the hype was about.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil - 617 Iced Mocha (€5.49)

Colour - It's a beautiful shimmery bronze shade which looks amazing worn on its own for an easy and effortless look. Of course you can use this as a base for other eyeshadow to help it last longer and to add some shimmer.

Application - One of the first things I noticed about this product was how smooth and easy it was to apply. I usually use this all over the lids and then blend it out with my finger of a brush.

Wear - It stays on for the whole day but I find it does crease a little after a couple of hours so I would recommend using a primer underneath.

Overall - I'm really impressed and it has definitely lived up to the hype. The only tiny, mini complaint I have is that it's not twistable so I'll have to go buy a jumbo pencil sharpener but for the price, that's definitely fair. They have a beautiful selection of colours so I will be getting some more of sure and I urge you to try them out if you haven't already.

Let me know what you think of them. I'd love to hear your opinions.

OOTD #1 - Last drops of summer

Seeing as it's still around 30 degrees where I live, I thought I would try and make the most of it before it inevitably starts getting a little chillier.

Outfit:

Top - Oasis
Shorts - Ralph Lauren
Ring - Charity shop
Bag - Ferragamo
Shoes - Asda

I've been loving collars recently and this top has little metal accents on the collars which I love. The shoes were such a bargain and super comfy. They go with every outfit so I've practically been living in them during the summer.

Réserve Naturelle Lipstick Review

I'm such a sucker for dark, vampy shades during autumn/winter so I thought I'd start stocking up (despite the fact that it's still boiling hot where I live).
Réserve Naturelle Rouge À Lèvres N.12 (€4,95)

Colour - The bullet itself would lead you to believe that it's a super dark, plummy shade but when I applied it to my lips, it appeared more of a deep orangey-pink (which my camera didn't really pick up in the swatch).

Application - Very smooth and easy to apply. The formula was pretty creamy for a matte lipstick as it's enriched with vitamin E. However it did get a little drying after a while so I would recommend wearing a little lip balm before applying or, if you don't mind losing the matte finish, adding a little lipgloss on top. One thing I noticed while applying is the smell - reminiscent of baby wipes, which is not exactly what you want from a product going onto your lips!

Wear - The colour changes quite a bit as it wears. Although it starts off as a deep pink, it gradually gets brighter and brighter. In around 4 hours it wears off completely so definitely keep it in your handbag for touchups.

Overall - For the price I definitely can't complain! The colour of it surprised me a little but the lipstick itself is pretty decent. I would maybe try another if I'm passing through and I find myself a pretty shade but I won't be rushing back anytime soon.

I hope this review is helpful. That was the first time I actually heard of the brand so let me know if you've tried anything from them.

My newfound love for Washi Tape

I was so excited when I found these Washi Tapes at my local arts and crafts shop. I'd seen so many youtube videos of people decorating their books and pencils with this stuff and I could never find it anywhere! As soon as I bought them I started decorating everything I could think of - it's very easy to get carried away.  It makes everything 10 times cuter in just a few minutes.

Have you used Washi tape before? And if you have, let me know what you used them for. I'd love to get some more inspiration!
